Freedom Weekes is a multi-hyphenate leader committed to telling the truth, building what doesn’t exist yet, and making space for those who’ve been overlooked by church, culture, and systems.
He is the founder and executive director of H.E.L.P. Ministries, a college movement that began in a dorm room and has since grown into a multi-campus network across New York and New Jersey. For over 15 years, Freedom has mentored students, led worship and revival gatherings, preached at churches and conferences, and raised up young leaders in faith, media, and ministry.
A gifted communicator and visionary creative, he has worked as a videographer, media director, and pastoral leader in both church and civic spaces. His work has been featured in publications like Ebony Magazine, and his first book, Christianity Was Never the White Man’s Religion, is already reshaping how a generation understands their faith, history, and identity.
But Freedom’s story is more than accomplishments — it’s about impact. Born and raised in the tension of trauma and calling, he’s lived the very questions many are still wrestling with: Is healing really possible? Can I be honest and still be holy? Where do I belong when I’ve outgrown where I came from?
